FERNCUMBE FRIDAY
FRIDAY 22ND MARCH 2019
ofsted inspection
On Wednesday 20th March we had a visit from Ofsted. The report should become public in approximately two weeks and we will publish it on our website. As the judgement is not yet finalised, we are unfortunately not able to discuss the outcome.
Thank you to everyone who spoke to the Inspector on the gate in the morning, for completing the online Parent View questionnaire and your messages of support.
farmhouse breakfast
Honiley Class had an amazing time when they visited Hatton Country World for a farmhouse breakfast on Monday 11th March.
Here are some of their thoughts on the trip…
Grace - ‘On our school trip we had a yummy breakfast. I really enjoyed the bacon. I loved the trip because we had a tractor ride that was bumpy. We also fed the animals including sheep, goats and we held the guinea pigs. Before we left we saw a bearded dragon!’
Hannah - ‘For our breakfast we had sausage, egg, bacon and beans. I loved the tractor ride because it was bumpy and fast.’
Aoife - ‘My favourite part of the trip was feeding the goats because they tickled my hand and it made me laugh.’
A big thank you to Hatton Country World for inviting us!
Miss Grubb
sounds spectacular!
Last Friday afternoon, a group of children from KS2, along with Miss Forbes, went to Butterworth Hall at Warwick Arts Centre to take part in Warwickshire Music Hub’s ‘Sounds Spectacular’ event. The children learnt new songs and dances during the afternoon rehearsal and then returned to Butterworth Hall in the evening to perform alongside other singers and groups from all over the county.
The children worked really hard and did Ferncumbe proud, performing alongside three other primary schools from Warwick and Leamington with the Singing Playgrounds team. Over the next few weeks, the children involved in both Singing Playgrounds and Friday’s concert will be visiting the KS1 classrooms to teach them the songs that we learnt!
Thank you to the parents who came along to support us on Friday night, and those who helped during the event as well.
Miss Forbes
early morning drop-off
In order to ensure safety whilst walking through the car park to Breakfast Club at 8am, please do walk alongside your child(ren), keeping them in your sight. It is an extremely busy time in the car park with staff arriving and parking. Also, please park considerately, and not immediately outside the school gates. Many thanks for your help with this.
singtastic concert in school
A reminder that school will be hosting a ‘Singtastic’ concert on Thursday 28th March 2019.
Reception and KS1 (Years 1-2) parents are invited from 9 - 9.20am, and KS2 (Years 3-6) parents from 9.30 - 9.50am.
The concert will take place in the school hall. We look forward to seeing you there.

Children in Years 3-6 are welcome to bring in fresh fruit for a breaktime snack. We request that they do not bring in cereal bars (which may contain nuts). Many thanks for your ongoing support with this.
