Sports Morning
What a fantastic sports morning, we were certainly blessed with the weather!
progress books
Progress Books will be coming home with your child next Friday (14th July), and will include your child's report and assessments. Please ensure any that any Progress Books which have not yet been returned to school are sent back in by Monday 10th July. Many thanks.
Farmers' market
A big thank you to all of you who attended our Farmers' Market this afternoon - it was a wonderful turn out. The children work hard for, and get so much out of, these events - your support is truly appreciated.
family picnic
A photo of today's 'Family Picnic', which brings true meaning to how we refer to ourselves... 'The Ferncumbe Family'!
message from the friends of ferncumbe
Thank you to everyone who came along to the Summer Fête on Sunday. A lot of fun was had by all and we were pleased to see so many people embracing the 'Wild West' theme. From 'lasso the horse and hobby horse races through to marshmallow toasting and tin can alley, everyone had a great time in the sunshine.
A big 'thank you' to everyone, who helped organise and run the event. You all did yourselves very proud. It's the largest Friends of Ferncumbe event every year and we couldn't do it without you all. Thank you also to those who came along to the event. We really appreciate your ongoing support and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! We raised approximately £1400 - exact amount to follow soon, once all expenses have been paid.
That's our final event for this Academic Year. However, don't forget our AGM at 8pm on 13th July - we'd be delighted to welcome new members along to join the Committee for next year. Our events calendar will kick off again on 15th September with our Family BBQ evening.
Wishing you all a very relaxing weekend.
The Friends of Ferncumbe.
SUN-HATS AND WATER BOTTLES
A further reminder that all children should bring sun hats and water bottles to school, especially when the forecast is particularly hot and sunny. Thank you.
SCHOOL COUNCIL CAKE SALE
Many thanks to Lowsonford Class and School Council who hosted a much anticipated cake sale last Friday. An incredible £88.75 was raised which was donated to 'Think Pacific', a charity which empowers disadvantaged children to overcome poverty issues in Fiji. Many thanks to you all for your support.
Haseley and Honiley classes visit Mary arden's farm
On Friday we went to Mary Arden's Farm. We had a tour around the house and got to do things like dressing up in Tudor clothes and making lavender bags. Afterwards, we had our lunch and played outside. In the afternoon, we watched a Tudor dinner and found out about the rules and manners when William Shakespeare was alive! We learnt all about what it was like when William Shakespeare was growing up. Some of us got to watch the birds of prey too!

Khalsa Juniors FC urgently want to hear from budding young goalkeepers at U9
In youth football we are very much encouraged to coach young players to try all different positions so that they can find areas of football that they are comfortable with and so that they can get an understanding of the complexities of each position that teammates may be in.
Goalkeeping can be slightly different and almost the exception to the rule. When players show a specific interest and aptitude for goalkeeping we try to encourage this, at least until such time as the player wants to try something else.
So with that in mind we at Khalsa Juniors FC are looking to encourage a young goalkeeper and help train them to leverage the best of their abilities. We have some excellent FA qualified coaching talent now at the club that can help bring this talent to the fore, so please pass the word to friends, colleagues and family.
Please share, and let’s see if we can get some new goalkeepers into the club.
Many Thanks
