PARENTs’ EVENINGS
Our next Parents’ Evenings will be held on Monday 15th April (in-person) and Wednesday 17th April (virtual). The majority of feedback from the survey in December suggested that school continues to offer the option of both virtual and face-to-face meetings.
You will receive an email regarding how to sign up to slots for these meetings from the school office before the end of term. These meetings follow assessments carried out in March and are an opportunity to follow-up on progress made by your child/ren and any areas you may wish to discuss of a pastoral or academic nature.
#Letgirlsplayfootball
Years 1-6 had a wonderful afternoon of football skills on the field last Friday, thanks to the amazing generosity of our parent volunteers. Different skills and activities were set up around the field in a carousel and the girls moved around and tried everything. The girls tried passing, dribbling and shooting. The parents and Mr Jones were supportive and so encouraging and it was great to see those girls who have little or no opportunity to engage with the sport come alive and give it their all.

HATTON CLASS
Hatton Class have thoroughly enjoyed exploring Traditional Tales this half term. We have had puppet shows, dramatic retellings, story maps, mask making and dressing up. Through drawing club activities we have been extending our vocabulary with ambitious and exciting words, linked to our stories and their characters. We met a GRUESOME troll, a DETERMINED Billy Goat and a BAMBOOZLED Baby Bear! The children were particularly keen to write shopping lists for Mrs Stephenson, so that we could make our own pancakes and porridge! The pancakes were devoured and we were told that the porridge was ‘just right’!

wroxall class
Over the past few weeks, Year 5 have been leaning about the life cycles of animals and plants. We have explored the differences between asexual and sexual reproduction in plants. They have discovered how cuttings, runners, bulbs and tubers are all ways that plants can reproduce by creating clones of themselves. The children have been finding out about the parts of a flowering plant and understanding the role each part plays in the process of pollination. The children made pollination posters showing how pollen is transferred between plants, allowing cells to be fertilised.

World book day
Last week we celebrated World Book Day by sharing our favourite books, buddy reading with other classes and taking part in a book emoji challenge around school. We have been delighted with the wonderful new books that have been generously purchased and donated in celebration of World Book Day. The library squad have been busy sorting and stamping our new books and they have already been very popular! Our Amazon Gift List remains open and donations of quality pre-loved books are welcome at any time. Thank you so much for supporting us in encouraging children to develop a love of reading.

During busy events in school local residents sometimes contact the office to bring to our attention how some cars have blocked driveways leaving them unable to leave their property safely, or vehicles have been parked with a lack of consideration. Whilst we totally understand the difficult issues related to parking around the school site please do aim to ensure you park respectfully and with due regard for safety.
Thank you for your support with this.
