shoebox appeal
School will be collecting for the Christmas Shoebox Appeal again this year on behalf of a local charity, Helping Hands Community Project. If you wish to wrap and fill a shoebox, please can you send filled boxes in to school by Friday 4th December, so we may get these out to them in good time before the closing date for collections.
Please refer to the Helping Hands flyer below for full details of what you may like to include in the shoebox. Alternatively, there is the option of making a donation to their money giving page if you are unable to make up a box.
it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas!
A big thank you to Mrs Joyce Gunnow from Cottage Farm, Pinley, for donating our beautful (and biggest ever!) Christmas tree. It has caused a great deal of excitement, as you can imagine!
You will have received an email today to let you know that children are invited to donate a Christmas decoration to hang on the tree. Each class will get to place their decoration on the tree throughout the course of next week.
christmas jumper day!
We will be taking part in the national ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ on Friday 11th December 2020. Pupils are invited to wear a Christmas or Winter themed top to school, with their normal school skirt or trousers. Please don’t feel it necessary to go out and buy a new top - a home decorated one is absolutely fine! We are asking for a donation of at least £2 per child towards Save the Children.
Ferncumbe festive favourites - Christmas performances
Staff and children are so disappointed not to be able to put on any live Christmas performances this year. We are, however, getting in the Christmas spirit with each class rehearsing and recording a favourite song and dance from a previous show. The performances will be recorded, compiled and put onto a DVD for purchase from school. Further details will be sent out towards the end of term. Please do look out for a communication from your child’s class teacher about costumes!
