building work completed!

We are delighted that the building work has finally been completed. Our new classroom and staffroom have caused much excitement over the past couple of weeks for children and staff alike. From next September, the new classroom will be for Year 1 children, the pupils currently in Hatton Class. Over the next couple of terms the new classroom has already been assigned to various activities, and at some point it seems only fair that all pupils will have the chance to carry out some of their learning activities in there.

School Council held their first meeting of the year in the new classroom and were invited to take a tour of the staffroom. To finally have a ‘fit for purpose’ staffroom, having waited for one for so long, has been so well received by all the adults in school!

Yesterday, Hatton Class were enjoying their Music lesson with Mrs Hoskin in the new classroom.

shrewley class visit aylesford school for a sports challenge morning

Last Tuesday, Shrewley Class went on a school trip to Aylesford to take part in a peronal best challenge, where we did lots of fun activities such as hockey, football and netball. At each station we had some students from the high school to help us. They were really caring and supportive, no matter what score we got. We all tried our best and had a really fun time achieving our personal bests. I really enjoyed it because I improved a lot with my sport and everyone there was really friendly.

Birdwatch

Capture.JPG

Our bird feeders received a welcome top up a few weeks ago, thanks to a very generous donation of bird feeders and feed from Mr Colegate and Trust Pet Products in Warwick. With binoculars at the ready, Year 5 set off on their annual Birdwatch last Thursday. It was colder than it seemed after an hour of quiet wandering, but the pupils attacked the task with enthusiasm and determination. There were no extraordinary sightings this year, but it was good to be able to record our resident populations of blue tits, jackdaws, crows, robins, wrens, blackbirds, sparrows, magpies and just a few wood pigeons! We have submitted our results to the National database and would love as many families as possible to take part in the Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend too!

Honiley Class Farmhouse Breakfast

What better way to start the day!

What better way to start the day!

Last Tuesday Honiley Class had an excellent morning at Hatton Country World. We were invited to learn about a healthy plate, specifically a breakfast plate, and sample some delicious breakfast items. We then went to feed some of the guinea pigs, goats and sheep and some of us faced our fears by holding a snake! It was a fantastic morning!

We even made the local news… https://leamingtonobserver.co.uk/news/youngsters-tuck-into-hearty-breakfast-at-hatton-adventure-world-17142/

positive affirmations

We are very grateful to one of our parents who runs a midday colouring club. Last week, children were asked to choose words to describe their own positive traits and their friends were also asked to choose special traits for each other. Below is a small selection of what they produced.
